Having examined numerous archival materials, the author describes and studies of the financial life support of the party elite of the Altai Territory in 1937–1955. Valuable sources of information in this case are annual labor budgets, financial reports and consolidated budgets of the Altai Regional Committee of the RSU (b) – the CPSU, to which access has been limited lately. The author emphasizes that the salary was one of the key means to provide for the political and managerial personnel in the region. The author points out that the official salaries of administrative workers were low throughout the period under discussion. The salary of the district party committee leader was equal to or even lower than the salary of a Stakhanovite worker. The author also found out that in the 1940s – early 1950s. of the regional party officials material support improved, while salaries remained the main source of financial security of the officials at all levels The financial situation of the party executives during the period under study was better than that of the workers and employees in the national economy.
