The article is devoted to the experiment of V. Shukshin to create the movie short story "Fatal Shot", a "transfer" of "lively" literary word of his story to the screen version. The transformation of the story "Mille pardons, madam!" into the literature and movie plot affirms the viewpoint of the author of the article "The Means of Literature and the Means of Cinema" about natural incompatibility of literary and movie imagery. Based on the film the article describes the genre and style peculiarities, its semiotic and socially relevant aspects. The researcher reveals relationship between literary script and the film, analyzes such components as landscapes, spiritual and mutual culture of the village, the language of its inhabitants, folk song used by V. Shukshin.
