Early in the XXIst century cultural communications between Mongolia and Russia became urgent. Feodor Semenovich Torkhov was the founder of these cultural contacts on Altai. From 1979 till 1991 he headed the Altaic branch of "Society of the Soviet-Mongolian Friendship". As the artist and public figure F.S. Torkhov became not only the founder of cooperation in sphere of art between Mongolia and Altai, but also has devoted his creative work to the Mongolian subjects.
