The article considers basic methodological points of Siberian oblastnichestvo's cultural science. The author establishes that oblastnichestvo's approach to cultural sphere is similar to ideas of functionalism, according to which the culture has no unnecessary and useless elements. Each component has its own function in maintaining spiritual bases of people's life. From the modern point of view, the methodology of the Siberian intellectuals is quite coherent to base principles of civilized approach and organistic Euroasian culture-philosophy.
