The article is devoted to the analysis of subethnic cultural features of one of ethno-territorial Kalmyk groups, belong to Kalmyk Torguts subethnos. Research is carried out on the basis of literary and field materials collected by the author, concerning one of the central rituals in Kalmyk culture. It should be mentioned that the object under consideration - the ceremony of sacrifice to fire - has the archaic origin. The investigation of this ceremony which had a calendar character and accompanied all ceremonies in a life cycle of a person lets us to conclude that among erketen Kalmyks there are three local variants having ethnic features of baguts, tsaatans and erketens. The author reveals the main subethnic and specific features differing one variant from another and comes to conclusion that various "anatomical codes" using in sacrifice processes was caused by difference of the mentioned groups.
