Profiteering in the USSR (1945-1953): Reasons, Scales, Peculiarities

This article is devoted to profiteering - one of the most widespread economic crimes in the USSR during the first postwar years. The author reveals the main reasons of the stability of this phenomenon in Soviet society, analyzes dynamics, social structure of persons taking part in speculating transactions, as well as state resistance to this kind of criminal activity.
