A presentation of social-psychological aspects of motivation for professional activity of social workers in the sphere of social service is the purpose of the given article. Methodology of revelation as individual as common (average) motives to study leader#s motivation of this or those level of system of social protection (aid), specialist on social work and specialist in the sphere of service was used in the article. Thus, it is confirmed that the motivation component in the process of management by stationery institutions of social service requires for the further development in direction from the existing external component of motives (in particular, material motives, organization, organization-management ones) to the internal component of motives (in particular, moral, information-cognitive, social-psychological, value and life-meaning motives).
