Different approaches to data base design for information system

Basing on the experience of information system development and DBMS operation, the authors specify the methodology of database design, based on the idea of information systems life cycle and attract attention to the fact that the most important points of the systems development is a stage conceptual designing and DBMS selection.

Also, it is mentioned the high importance of interface design that is aimed to satisfy users' demands and make data handling easier.

The main conclusion is that analyzed methodology of the information system design, allows developing reliable, effective and functional systems that can be used as network as local systems.
