Osteological Сomplex of the Late Bronze Settlement Burla-3
The article considers the osteological complex of the late Bronze Age settlement Burla-3 received during the excavation of a monument in 2013–2015. In general, material is presented by strongly shattered fragments, but possible, morphometric measurements of bones with the purpose to establish approximate external data of an animal were taken. 760 fragments of bone residues were subjected to the faunistic analysis. Of this amount 198 species were identified and their species were determined. The group of indeterminable bone residues included 562 fragment. When studying material it was revealed that all bone residues found on the settlement are food garbage. Violation of their integrity is connected with their intended utilization by the person, or the latest chemical aeration. It was possible to define that overwhelming number of bone residues belonged to cattle. The greatest percent from total number of bones belongs to the horse, on the second place is cattle (cow), on the third is small cattle (sheep). The analysis of specific and age structure of herd allowed the authors to claim that the population of a monument had had a cattle breeding type of economy with prevalence of a meat and dairy orientation. Essential prevalence of bones of a horse indicates the approaching of herd structure to the nomadic type.
