European Identity: Contemporary Russian Researches
In this article the author makes an analysis of contemporary Russian social researches in the context of European identity. Such researches are devoted to the results of multiculturalism policy conduct in Europe, to the influence of European Union as a state on the process of European identity formation, to the issues of tolerance, relation and reciprocal impact of European integration and European identity, to the relations between the member states of the European Union, European states as a whole and other members of the international community, to the aspect of governing supranational relationships within Europe, to the issue of European identity formation within European Union and within the whole Europe, and to the factors which might have a direct or indirect impact on the European identity formation process. The article cites the results of different researches on the problem of interest, all of which state that the European identity is under formation now. Moreover, in this article the author draws a conclusion on the possible scenarios of European identity development in the EU and Russia.
