Confessional Dominant in the Integration of the Slavic Population: Church-School Building in the Steppe Region (80‑ies of the XIX — Beginning of the XX Century)
The central problem in the article is the issue of the degree of influence of church-school building on the integration process in the Steppe general-governorship. Careful attention is paid to the preaching activities of the Russian Orthodox Church of the Slavic population. Study reports are subject to Tomsk and Omsk dioceses, aspects of the “concentration” of churches, education of priests, moral and ethical status of the flock. The result of the research findings are the continuity of traditions of the two dioceses, the assertion of the principle of independence of the Omsk clergy in identifying priority tasks. Also the author has found out that in the process of the church building, religious and educational activities, diagnosis of “religious activity” clergy drew some conclusions about the need to reshuffle priorities: from the christianization of the Kazakhs to the necessary integration of the Slavic population. That confessional dominant educational integration was intended to serve as a national impact on the region of the nucleus (language — religion — historical memory), restoring the religious community of immigrants from the state-forming ethnos of the Russian Empire.
