Determining the Materiality of Non Financial Risks for Disclosure in Financial Statements
The article considers the problem of disclosure of risks of economic activity in financial statements. The authors offer a methodical approach to assess non-financial risks of the enterprise — the producer of the steel products, consisting of three stages. The first stage is identification of risks; the second stage is measurement of risks; the third stage is definition of the risks accepted for economic activity. The purpose of the methodical approach is to define non-financial risks to be included in the financial statements. Economic literature includes a sufficient number of works on the study of hazards. Significant contribution to the study of risks was mad e by domestic and foreign scholars such as A. P. Algin, A. S. Bakaev, I. T. Balabanov, K. V. Baldin, I. A. Blank, S. N. Vorobyov, V. G. Hetman, L. P. Goncharenko, V. V. Kovalev, M. I. Kuter, M. V. Melnik, V. A. Moskvin, S. A. Nikolaeva, V. F. Paly, S. N. Petrova, V. I. Podolsky, M. A. Rogov, G. V. Savitskaya, N. V. Khokhlov, A. D. Sheremet, E. I. Shokhin, etc. However, their works are moistly devoted to financial risks. In contrast to financial risks, «other » risks in special accounting literature have received little attention, especially for the real economy. Therefore, the authors offered a variant of evaluation other business risks.
