The article analyzes the phenomenon of the war propaganda (on the example of Nazi propaganda against the Soviet Union), as in the period preceding the attack on the Soviet Union, and during World War II. The author attempts to trace not only the structure and impact of information technology in the promotion of Soviet society, but also a substantive aspect - those stereotypes and images that were introduced into the consciousness of ordinary people in the USSR.
