This article is devoted to researching the peculiarities of organization of herd driving tracts in the Altai at the second part of the XIX - the beginning of the XX centuries. On the basis of published and archives sources the researcher discovers the main directions and peculiarities of building the herd driving roads in the Altai region, examines the main reasons and conditions of the building the constant herd driving tracts which had for an object to prevent and struggle with animals’ disease.
