"The Second Virgin Soil" on the Pages of Western Siberian Periodicals

Articles in periodicals concerning the development of cattle-breeding in 1950-1960s are analyzed in the paper. The basic directions in publications are also analyzed, their specificity is shown. The article also shows the role of the press in organization of competition among cattle breeders. The author draws a conclusion that mass press at that time played a role of the accelerator in agricultural production growth.
