The role of the language in cognitive processes and in cultural continuity makes language study a part of philosophical cognition. The language is a means of human experience accumulation and a source of knowledge about the world. It is also an immanent system that has its own rules of functioning. Other language connections in which a primitive world outlook is reflected may prevent from forming a subject of scientific research. That is why the problem of differentiation of language significance and scientific category meaning seems to be important. Some examples of the wrong distinction of the mentioned notions in scientific literature are given.
