Restoration and Conservation Activities on the Rock Art Site Tomskaya Pisanitsa in the Late 1980‑s — 1990‑s.
The article deals with a critical analysis of one of the stages (late 1980‑s — 1990‑s) of the history of Tomskaya Pisanitsa rock art site situated in Yashkino district of the Kemerovo region. Some archives materials are published in this work for the first time. This allowed organizing and generalizing the history of the site restoration with a complex approach. The author analyses the restoration and conservation works method and technology, administrative system, motivation of the specialists to perform this activity. The researcher concludes that the administrative resource which resulted from the opening of the Tomskaya Pisanitsa museum-reser ve allowed u nder t a k i ng some measu res to evaluate the state of the rock mass with petroglyphs and to develop some projects of the site conservation. This work has resulted in a concept of the site conser vation which was described in some official documents. However, due to the general crudity of petroglyph restoration problem, some unprofessional and badly planned activities have been periodically done without any accompanying documents.
