Archaeological Research of B.H. Kadikov (1950−1960th)
The article considers the results of B.H. Kadikov’ archaeological research in the 1950−1960‑s. At that time he was an employee of the Biysk local museum. The author presents the main areas of B.H. Kadikov’ excavation of sites in chronological order, and analysis of the available publications and materials from the archives. The main aim of B.H. Kadikov’ expeditions was to receive materials for a museum exposition, first of all to fill the sections on Stone and Bronze Age. Existence of the professional archaeologist in the staff of the museum allowed filling up archaeological collection systematically. As a result a lot of sites which essentially filled up source base on ancient and medieval history of the region were open and studied. Archaeological research captured the territory of the northern foothills and the Altai Mountains. Many objects were unique for that period. At the same time, results of works were not sufficiently published. Many materials of B.H. Kadikov’ research, stored in archive and funds of the Biysk local museum, were not introduced for scientific use. There are potential opportunities for use them for modern research.
