Androgynous Gender-Based Identity of Personality in Terms of Psychological Compatibility of a Married Couple
The author of the article analyzes psychological differences in the structure of gender models of compatibility of a married couple. The findings are analyzed from the perspective of possible influence of the gender identity type on psychological compatibility of a married couple. Closer attention is paid to androgynous gender-based identity and its influence on psychological type of compatibility of a married couple. As a result of research the androgynous gender-based identity provides high emotional-personal compatibility of a married couple. This particular type of compatibility is treated by the author as the more appropriate to understanding psychological compatibility in a couple. Resting on the idea of behavioral flexibility of a personality of androgynous type, the author of the article proves high compatibility in the sphere of household relationships in a couple. It must be noted that following traditional gender roles couples (a husband is a masculine gender identity and a wife is a feminine one) also demonstrate high compatibility in the sphere of household relationships. Hence, the hypothesis of high psychological compatibility of a married couple with androgynous identity gets it confirmation in the research.
