Theoretical and Methodological Situation in History Studies and Some Tendencies in World Outlook Approach Development in Modern Nomad Studies
At the present stage of development of domestic nomad studies, examination of nomadic communities’ outlook is becoming one of the major approaches that began taking shape at the end of the XIX – the beginning of the XX centuries. Further study of religious-mythological systems was promoted by the structural-semiotics approach which allowed to present full reconstruction of nomadic people’s outlook of Eurasia in the Scythian- Saka period. The historic and ethnographic approach in the analysis of medieval nomads’ religions still keeps the lead positions; this approach, unlike structuralsemiotics studies, to a greater degree allows to trace historical variability of nomads’ outlook. Integration of archeology and natural sciences in interdisciplinary approach opened new possibilities for studying nomadic peoples’ world outlook. Realization of this approach was most successfully shown within the limits of complex interdisciplinary studies and interpretation of materials from Pazyryk culture barrows. At the present stage the world outlook studies is focused on complex interdisciplinary research into a wide range of sources within the limits of the structural-system approach, as well as on involvement of positions of other methodological paradigms which allow to consider the range of problems from different research angles.
