The Taxonomic Structure of Scrophulariaceae Juss. s.l. in the Altai Mountain Country
The article gives a taxonomic structure of the family Scrophulariaceae Juss. s.l. in the Altai Mountain Country. The family Scrophulariaceae commonly known as Figwort Family in the Altai Mountains comprises 137 species and 5 subspecies from 20 genera that compounds 4,6% of specific and 9,5% of the genera structure in the world volume. The largest genera Veronica and Pedicularis totally includes more than the half of all Scrophulariacea species — 80. Four genera are also multispecific: Linaria (13 species), Euphrasia (10), Scrophularia (9) and Verbascum (9). These 6 genera totally compound 88,3% from all species in the family. The genus spectrum is characterized by the high relative density of the genera with a small number of species. In general the taxonomic frame of Scrophulariaceae is common for highlands of Northern Asia. In the genus spectrum there are some particular features that are eflected in the high role of genus Euphrasia (4th place) and in the big relative density of Veronica (1st place), that pushed aside on the 2 place genus Pedicularis. Genus Euphrasia is interesting uppermost by a qualitative compound — the half of species is limited by the mountains of Southern Siberia and Mongolia. The taxonomic frame of Scrophulariaceae reflects regional environmental conditions, and shows, first of all, allochtone trends in the formation of Scrophulariaceae compound, and less autochtone.
