Problems of Adaptation of First Year Students and the Role of the Head of the Year in Their Solution
This article discusses the adaptation of the first year students at the university. Several aspects of adaptation have been revealed. Emphasis is mace on didactic adaptation. Several levels of adaptation of students in high school have been allocated and disclosed: indicatively unstable adaptation, relatively stable, later adaptation and maladjustment. The problems of adjusting to a new team have been raised. The article lists the features, functions and collective way of its formation. The focus is made on issues of team-building among first-year students and the role of the head of the year in solving these problems. The article also describes such a common problem of the first-year students as independent work; rises some important psycho- pedagogical problem of freshmen, such as the ability to communicate, to build a dialogue with teachers, classmates and people around them; indicates that a special role in solving the problems of freshmen belongs to the head of the year. A characteristic of head of the year reveals its main functions: supervising freshmen learning activities, educational activities, work with parents.
