From the History of Searching for Gold in the Altai Mountains in the First Half of the XIXth Century

The article deals with the history of searching for placer gold deposits in the Altai Mountains. Placer gold deposits were discovered in the Altai Mountains in the first half of the XIXth century. It was done as a part of systematic geological survey organized by F.F. Beger, the head of the Altai mining plants. During the 30-40s of the XIXth century geologists methodically explored the Altai Mountains. The perspectives of discovering new gold deposits were great.
