The Irony as a Way of Forming of the Toleration
This article is devoted to the study of the possibilities of forming tolerant forms of human being. At the beginning of this article the author defines the notion of toleration. Then the author explores the intellectual and emotional structures of human activities that contribute to the establishment and development of toleration. According to the author, one of these structures is the irony. Analyzing the specifics of ironic thinking, the author concludes that the ambivalent nature of ironic judgments allows an ironist to admit the existence of people with other value orientations and other philosophical positions. The author believes that the basis of the ironic mental activity is the recognition of the incomprehensibility of ultimate bases of the whole world being. Besides, the author supports the position of the French philosopher Vladimir Yankelevich, according to which the most important attribute of the ironic method is a special state of the mental clarity. From the point of view of the author, this state of the clearness of mind allows us to develop toleration and understand other people who hold other beliefs, other thoughts and other patterns of thinking.
