Attitude of the Central and Regional Authorities to the Question of Transformation of the Traditional Judicial System in Turkestan and Steppe Governor-generalship at the End of the XIXthCentury
The traditional justice system in the Kazakh society in the XIXthcentury developed on the way of integration into the empire-wide space. Main activities and powers of the Kazakh Peoples Court have been defined by "The Regulations on the management of Turkestan" of 1886, however, a few years after its introduction became apparent ineffectiveness of these changes in practice, which caused a broad discussion in the central and regional governments.
