Spatially Distributed Market with Barriers to Entry

The impacts of the barriers to entry on the spatially distributed market that are characterised by multiple sellers engaged in selling items in both domestic and external distant markets, are discussed. The results of the manufacturers’ activities include the following - transportation expenses and sales - and they depend on the strength of the barrier to entry. The model of Cournot oligopoly, taking into account these aspects has been modified and an analytical solution in its general form for the N manufacturers and M markets has been found.
