Ethnopolitical aspects of the constructing gas pipeline #Altai# across the plateau Ukok are studied. The risks due to increased migration, the problems of the environmental protection, historical heritage, and the unique culture of aboriginal peoples of Altai are discussed. The main problems of the ethnopolitical stability and safety related to ethnopolitics of the gas transit are shown to have a postponed character. They are determined by the struggle of ethnopolitical actors (entrepreneurs) for the agenda in the wide range of problems in the republic, and by the struggle for material, social, cultural and other profits.
