The article shows the trends in the development of rare-earth industry, which is currently at the stage of production growth. Due to reduction in exports of China (main manufacturer), the global industry switches to new sources of supply of rare-earth metals, which causes increase in the number of investment projects in this sector (including Russia and Kazakhstan). As the risk of investment projects is a key parameter for decisions on capital investment, the article suggests a tool for risk analysis and subsequent management in conditions of information uncertainty. The method is based on the sharing of the sensitivity analysis and scenario analysis. The proposed recommendations are universal and may be useful to form risk management systems in industrial enterprises in other sectors. The article also reflects the difficulties in applying this technique for the daily risk management system of the company: one of them is disunity within the business units and the low level of organizational culture.
