The article considers the career of L. V. Babicheva in a context of her biography and teaching activity; reveals the connection between some facts of the artist’s biography with the features of her creative search; focuses on student’s years by L. V. Babicheva, especially on study at the Leningrad Construction Institute. Those years were the initial stage of formation of her creative person. The author gives a special interest to L. V. Babicheva’s water color works which best express her talent despite the fact she got her education in architecture. The article specifies features of her painting techniques, the range of subjects and the plots, genre variety of her works, and also the special relation of the artist to nature and its reflection in works of art. The special attention is paid to pedagogical activity of L. V. Babicheva: not only to her professional, but also personal qualities, the relation to the work. In conclusion the article gives a short review of the L. V. Babicheva posthumous personal exhibitions. The article contains the broad illustrative range including family photos, photos of expositions of exhibitions, L. V. Babicheva`s works.
