The article emphasizes the analysis of negative tendencies which are becoming apparent in the criminality of juveniles tending to spread and use drug and psychotropic substances. The article deals with the psychological peculiarities of the juveniles who use drugs, alcohol and psychotropic substances which influence the choice of the type and way of crime commitment, victims, object of criminal encroachment and mechanism of the crime in the whole. The factors of and development risk of drug addiction among juveniles are considered here. Based on the theoretical and empirical material, this article analyses biological (physiological), moral and psychological, social and demographic and other characteristics of the juveniles of such category which are important to detect crimes committed by juveniles, the choice of tactical methods of the investigation with their participation and commitment of crimes by juveniles intoxicated with alcohol, drug or psychotropic substances and the investigation of the crimes as a whole.
