The Effort of Russian Mediation in the Anglo-American War of 1812-1814

The article is devoted to development of Russian-American diplomatic relations in the period of the Anglo-American war (1812-1815). Special attention is paid to attempt of Russia mediation in solving the outcome of the war. The author turns to the diplomatic correspondence between Russian and American political leaders, as well as uses the work of contemporary Russian and foreign authors covering this issue.

Key words: Russian mediation, Anglo-American war 1812-1815, Anglo-American antagonisms, Republican and Federalist parties, trade and economic agreement, government of the United States.
