The article is devoted to the role of derivational socket in the derivational organization of Russian military discourse. As is known, word-formation (derivation) plays an important role in transmission of conceptual information embedded in the reprezent of certain concept. With the establishment of the motivational potential one can reveal valuable information about the conceptual signs of relevant concepts, which are the main in the scope of the concepts of discourse.
