The article is devoted to the problems of application of some expertise forms by a specialist while investigating crimes connected with illegal extraction of water biological resources. As a result of the research, except of some suggestions about efficient methodological recommendations related to specialist’s participation in crime investigations, the authors come to conclusion that it is necessary to unite a specialist and an expert into a one-whole participant of criminal juridical procedures - a specialist.
