Creating a Digital Terrain Model (DTM) with the Help of High Resolution Space Images

The article focuses on the technology of creating a digital terrain model (DTM) with the help of high resolution space images. The sources for creating digital maps were high resolution space images in GeoTiff format which were made by the satellites QuickBird and Ikonos at 0.6m or 1m resolution respectively. As a result the researched geo information technology allowed us to create 1:5000 scale digital maps of 27 villages in Ust- Koksinsky district, Altai Republic.
