Study on Monuments of the Western Mongolia History and Culture in the XIX - the Beginning of XX Centuries

The article is devoted to the history of opening and studying monuments of a cultural heritage of the Western Mongolia in XIX - the beginning of XX centuries. Researches have been organized by the Russian scientific institutions, and also connected with the activity of Finnish scientists in the Central Asia. Ancient and medieval barrows, sculptures, rock drawings are revealed, descriptions, sketches and photos of objects are made.

Key words: Western Mongolia, monuments, history, culture, religion, "deer" stones, khirigsuures, Turkic culture.
