Forming the "Correct Forestry" Basic Principles in the Altai Mountain District (1840-1917)

This article considers one of the poor studied questions in forestry history of the Altai Mountain District - forming the basic principles to maintain the "correct forestry" in the Altay forestry in 1840-1917. The significance and the results of the work carried out by the Forest Department specialists are shown and causes of low productivity of the work are analyzed by the author. Definition of the "correct forestry" is made from the point of view of forest science.
