Historical Peculiarities of the American Revolution of the XVIII Century Interpreted by Alexis de Tocqueville

The article analyses ideas of Alexis de Tocqueville concerning specific features of the American revolution of the XVIII century. This aspect of the de Tocqueville’s historical concept has not been studied by researches earlier. At the same time it is one of the strongest elements of the concept; it is characterized by features and evaluations which are still vital today.

Key words: revolution, power, state, elite, egalitarian, Tocqueville.
