Main Tendencies in Public Hearings’ Organization in Barnaul (2007-2011)

The article is devoted to the problem of public hearings as a form of direct democracy in Barnaul. The author analyzes the statistics of hearings, which held in period from 2007 to august, 2011. The article shows the trend that from 2010 till now population more and more often become to be the initiator of public hearings. The author gives some recommendations to improve this democratic institution.
