Prisoner’s Status in the Bashkir Communities at the XVII^th Century

There is an opinion that capture of prisoners was the main source to obtain slaves for Bashkirs. Basing on analysis of Posolksy Prikaz Records this article states that the captives were incorporated into Bashkir tribes or were used for the exchange of relatives.
