Ecological Influence on Shelter Belts Viability

Shelter belts in steppe and forest-steppe regions of the Altai Territory are met high requirements to their structure that is related to a number of rows and intensity of forest debris in these rows. The shelter belts with 3 rows of weeping birch or balsam poplar are the most efficient ones. Shelter belts consisting of maple ash is unsuitable because at low height such plantations have poor airing.
