Hypothesis and Sociological Research for Social Work

Basing on practice of social work in the Altai Territory, the article considers the problem of changing place and role of hypothesis in basic cycle of sociological epistemology. Author supposes that two basic functions of hypothesis are revealed not only in the Altai but are general for any empirical sociological researches. They influence on the quality of sociological information.

Key words: hypothesis, sociology of social work, functions of hypothesis in the logic of scientific deduction of sociologists, theoretical model of an object of sociological research, probability of scientific theory, quality of sociological information.
