A.P. Chekhov as a "Tendentious" Writer in the M.O. Gershenzon’s Literary Criticism

Basing on Gershenzon’s literary criticism the article points out the dichotomy "tendentious" writer vs "honest" writer which played an important role in A.P. Chekhov’s creative work. The author reveals Gershenzon’s interest to the problem of biographical aspect in Chekhov’s creativity.
