The Boxer Rebellion and the "Yellow Peril": the Anti-Chinese Moods on the Russian Far East (1898-1902)

Article is devoted to research on the public ideas in the Russian Far East in the period of 1898-1902. At that time a powerful anti-European movement known as the Boxer Uprising was started in China. The rebellion in neighboring China caused a surge of xenophobia against China and Chinese people within the population of the Russian Far East, and it aroused a wave of brutal massacres against peaceful Chinese people all over the region.
