Philosophical Background of Cognitive Approach to Word-Formation (on the Basis of Ancient Philosophy)

The author makes an attempt to find the origins of the cognitive approach to considering the questions of the nomination theory, the theory of meaning and the problems of word-formation on the basis of antique philosophy. According to the author such approach allows to reveal the intentions of contemporary cognitive research in the field of word-formation within the limits of philosophical antique classics as one of the steadiest paradigms of the European scientific culture.
