Modern information provision is a vital component of governmental authorities' activity. During the study on the main directions of the activities carried out by the Press Service of the Altai Territory Administration the author discovered a number of problems connected with poor development of the population feed-back channels. Communication and PR mechanisms allow authorities to create a parity dialogue in relations between them and the public by creating conditions for social discussions and cooperation.
