The History of Mesyatseslov Study and Their Role in the Early Russian Chronology Researches in XXth - Early XXIst Centuries

The article is devoted to analysis of scientific publications on the problem of mesyatseslov's dating use in the chronicles at the XXth - early XXIst centuries. As a result the author draws the conclusion that the detailed analysis of all mesyatseslov dates in chronicles can help to break down contradictions in the dates of different historical events.
