The article is devoted to the history of school education development in North Ossetia in the middle of 1940-1950s. The author observes the difficulties of past-war restoration, the quantitative and structural changes in the soviet school system in past-war period. The article analyzed the problem of leaving schools by pupils, which was regarded as a serious obstacle in solving the problem of total compulsory education. The reasons forced children to leave schools and the methods used by government bodies to stop this phenomenon are examined too.
