Legality and Validity of Jury Verdict

The categories of legality and validity of a jury verdict are analyzed in this article. The author draws a conclusion that the illegality of a verdict appears when the jury breach their duties assigned to them by the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation. As for the groundlessness of a verdict, it takes place in cases provided by RF CPC, article 348, parts 4, 5.
