The agricultural sector plays defining role in economy of the Altai Territory. It means that well-being of region depends on its successful and stable development. Decrease in rates of economic growth, display of some crisis phenomena demands active participation of the state in definition of key directions of development. The state support of agricultural sector provides realization of prior national projects, regional target programs in the field of agriculture, creation of special territory of agrarian type and specialized (branch-wise) agro-industrial clusters in the Altai Territory.
