The article discusses the problem of studying national specificity of Russian landscape tradition in the context of ethno art. Many interpretations of Russian art tradition in Russian painting of the XXth century and a great number of definitions ("national school", "national art tradition", "Russian landscape tradition") make it necessary to analyze conceptual framework and role of Russian art tradition for development of national landscape.
